Police Investigating Criminal Mischief at Hotel

were summoned to the at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday—when company officials reported damage to vending machines there.

Police said the dollar-bill changers on the vending machines at the Southpointe hotel were smashed in on the second, third and fourth floors, although no damage estimate was immediately available.

Hotel employees told police that several suspicious people were seen walking through the lobby prior to the incident.

Police said officers are looking into whether there was any footage of the criminal mischief caught on security cameras.

A similar incident had occured at the Homewood Suites in Southpointe recently, as well, police said.
