Reminder: Sign up for Upcoming Veterans' Event

Local veterans be aware: You could be honored in September.

State Rep. Brandon Neuman is hosting a veterans' celebration at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 6 in the auditorium.

All military veterans are welcome to attend this special ceremony to honor troops who have served in Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Southern Watch, Iraqi Freedom, and in the Afghanistan war.

Commemorative medals and state citations will be presented to honorees, and refreshments will be served.

"We recognize the significant sacrifices of all veterans and, on this occasion, I will be fortunate to honor men and women who have served in some of our most recent conflicts," Neuman, D-North Strabane, said. "It will be my first ceremony to publicly thank these brave men and women, and I hope other members of the military community will join me at this special ceremony."

But the lawmaker stressed: Prior registration is required.
