Renovation of Canonsburg Borough Building Underway
An official groundbreaking for the borough renovations will be Friday at noon.

After months of preparation, the $1.3 million renovation of the Canonsburg borough building began Monday.
Phase one of the construction project is concentrated on the first floor, where the police department—and borough officials said those renovations will give the department twice the space. That's because it expands into the former children’s department of the Canonsburg Public Library, as well as the borough’s storage area.
Renovation of the police area is expected to be completed on July 2.

The lobby of the building is also being renovated in phase one.Â
Phase two, which will begin in July, will entail moving the administrative offices to the former main floor of the library. This phase will also include the installation of a command center for borough emergencies, and changes to all borough restrooms to be compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act.
