UPDATED: Victim Dies After Shooting at North Strabane Business
Police said they believe one victim was also the shooting suspect.
One man was killed and another injured during a shooting at a Wilson Road business Thursday afternoon -- and North Strabane Police Chief Dan Strimmel said he believed one of the victims was also the shooting suspect.
According to Washington County Coroner Tim Warco, Trevor Casey Compton, 34, of Mont Belvieu, Texas, was shot in the abdomen. He later died at Canonsburg Hospital, according to the station.
Emergency responders were called to the scene about 4 p.m., Strimmel said. It was unclear at which business the shooting occurred – but North Strabane fire officials had partitioned off the parking lot of a welding shop on Wilson behind International Paper Co.

A witness said two helicopters hovered overhead, and Strimmel confirmed that one of the victims was taken by ambulance to Canonsburg General Hospital.
The police chief said authorities believed that the second shooting victim, who was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital, was also the suspect.

“We don’t even know what happened yet,” he said when reached at the police station around 5:45 p.m.
Strimmel said then that his department would be investigating the incident, and said that officers were interviewing two witnesses to ascertain what exactly happened at the shop.
A Pennsylvania State Police forensics van was parked outside of North Strabane Police Headquarters early Thursday evening.
No further information was being released.
