Charges Held Against Woman Involved in Bridgeville Drug Bust

An update on court cases heard by District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet.

The following is an update on court cases heard by District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet on May 6. McGraw-Desmet oversees Bridgeville and Collier Township.

Charges were held for court on Monday against a Bridgeville woman involved in a drug bust at a house where two young children lived.

Shelby Casper, 21, is charged with firearms possession, altering a firearm, marijuana possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of children. The charges were held for court following a preliminary hearing May 6 before Magisterial District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet.

Bridgeville police said Casper was asleep on the third floor of a Union Street home March 15 when officers arrived to check on the welfare of two young children who said they couldn't find their mother.

The mother, Christie Apitsch, 28, was charged with two counts of child endangerment.

Waived for court

  • Charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia against Brenton Dillon, 28, of Oakdale, were waived for court. A weapons charge was withdrawn. Bridgeville police charged Dillon on Feb. 16.
  • Charges of careless driving and two counts of DUI against Kimberly Thorpe, 46, of Washington, Pa., were waived for court. Collier Township police charged Thorpe on Dec. 31.
  • Charges of theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy against Matthew Corra, 21, of Carnegie were waived for court. Collier Township police charged Corra on Feb. 25.
  • Charges of retail theft, conspiracy, receiving stolen property and possessing an instrument of crime against Anson Askew, 42, of Penn Hills, were waived for court. Collier Township police charged Askew on April 30.

Held for court

  • Charges of possession of a controlled substance, DUI, careless driving, reckless driving and other traffic offenses against Kurt Meyer, 55, of Bridgeville were held for court following a preliminary hearing on May 6. South Fayette Township police charged Meyer on Feb. 14.
