CV Wins AAU Tournament in Buffalo

The Chartiers Valley AAU baseball team traveled to Buffalo, N.Y., last weekend and won seven straight games to capture the New Era Cap Classic championship in the 15U division.

The team beat Steve’s Sports, another AAU team from Cleveland, Ohio, on Sunday by a score of 2-1 at Buffalo’s minor league baseball stadium.

Thirty teams from Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and Canada participated in the three-day tournament.

CV’s baseball team recorded three blowout wins Friday and Saturday before a close 7-6 victory over the squad from Tannersville, N.Y.  In all, CV outscored its opponents 68-21 during the tournament’s seven games.
