Heidelberg Becoming More Bicycle Friendly

Heidelberg received a grant to install bike racks around the community.

Soon it will be easier for bicyclists to stop in Heidelberg and enjoy the community.

Heidelberg Borough is one of 19 municipalities in Allegheny County to receive a grant for bike racks to be installed.

"The new bike racks aid at making our community more friendly and accommodating for our residents who travel around town via bicycle," said Council President Raymond Losego.

The grant was made possible through a partnership between the Allegheny County Health Department, Local Government Academy, Bike Pittsburgh and Sustainable Pittsburgh

The borough plans to install five bike racks at public facilities around town, including the borough building, Heidelberg Community Room, and Ellsworth Park.
