Heidelberg is holding its third annual “First Night of Lights” at the Ellsworth Avenue playground on Saturday night.

The event will go from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 1 and include live music, an ice sculptor, food, hay rides and a chance for kids to tell Santa what they want for Christmas. The night will culminate with the lighting of the borough’s Christmas tree.

The borough is also partnering with the Marine Corps Toys for Toys campaign, which will give residents a chance to donate a new, unwrapped toy at the festival. Residents can also drop them off in a donation box in the lobby at the Heidelberg Borough Building during weekday business hours.

“This is the third year that Heidelberg has participated in this program and we thank the many wonderful residents for contributing,” borough Manager Joe Kauer wrote in a press release.
