New CV School Board Eager to Make Academic Progress
Four new Chartiers Valley school directors were sworn-in during Tuesday night's reorganization meeting.

“We’re very excited now to get the election behind us and move forward.” Stevenson said. “We’re looking forward to working with (district superintendent Brian White).”
Zeleznik added, “We’re just ready to get started on what we said we wanted to do: Improve academic excellence and work as a team.”

The board voted unanimously to keep Beth McIntyre as the governing body’s president. It also voted to install Poletti as vice president, replacing Debbie Rice.
“It’s a new role for me, but I appreciate the opportunity and the vote of confidence from my fellow board members,” Poletti said. “I think we have a really good board.”
Tuesday night’s meeting lasted only a few minutes and the board will not meet again until next month. But Huntoon said they are eager to make progress.
“This is what we wanted to do,” she said. “Now we can finally starting doing the work.”
After the meeting, the board members chatted with their families in the audience. As Kearney spoke to Chartiers Valley Patch, he pointed to all of the children in the room as the motivation for the new board members.
“This is the topping of it all,” Kearney said. “We’re just looking forward to giving back to the community.”
