Rash of Vandalism Hits Collier

Vandals strike three places in Collier in past two weeks.

Collier police reported a rash of vandalism in the township over the past two weeks.

The first vandalism incident occurred some time between Aug. 19 and 22 when someone damaged two vehicles at a construction site off Prestley Street. Police said a bulldozer had two broken windows and all the windows in a pickup truck were smashed out.

On Aug. 23, vandals punctured at least 11 tires on several golf carts at the Club at Nevillewood. Police said the flat tires will cost the golf course $750 to $1,000.

Finally, police said vandals did a multitude of damage to the Church of Grace and Glory on Baldwin Road Extension. Police said a rock was thrown through a window, the door was spray painted and an axe was stuck into an outdoor table on Aug. 27.

Investigators did not say whether they think the string of vandalism in the township is related.

 

Retail theft charges: Michaella Bonds, 18, and Janelle Rice, 19, both of Bridgeville were charged with retail theft after Collier police said they attempted to steal $130 worth of pet products from Kmart on Aug. 28.

Personal items stolen on trail: A bag containing a cell phone, credit cards and $100 in cash was stolen on Aug. 28 after a man accidentally left it in the Walker’s Mill parking lot while biking on the Panhandle Trail.

 

DUI charge: Scott Township police charged a Kentucky man with drunken driving early Monday morning. Police said 54-year-old Dennis Brashear was intoxicated when they stopped his car for a traffic violation.

Auto parts stolen: Scott police said several catalytic converters were stolen from Domination Chassis on Keystone Drive on Aug. 23.

 

Drug charges: Heather Vergreron, 28, of Heidelberg, was charged with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia on Aug. 26, borough police said. Police said they found a glass pipe and marijuana in various containers inside her living room.
