Retail Theft, Assault Charges Withdrawn

The following is an update on court cases scheduled before District Judge Gary Zyra on May 23. Zyra oversees Heidelberg and Scott Township.

Charges Withdrawn

• A retail theft charge against Julian Rankin, 18, of Green Tree, was withdrawn. Scott Township police charged Rankin on March 4.

• A simple assault charge against Orlando Coffee, 31, of Scott Township, was withdrawn. Scott Township police charged Coffee on Feb. 3.

• Charges of fraud, driving an unregistered vehicle, operating a vehicle without a valid inspection, and other vehicle-related violations against Kristen Tharp, 35, of Carnegie, were withdrawn. A disorderly conduct was reduced to a non-traffic citation, and a charge of driving with a suspended or revoked license was reduced to a traffic citation.

Held/Waived for Court

• A theft charge against Matthew McCutchan, 34, of Cuddy, Pa., was held for court. Scott Township police charged McCutchan on March 21.

• Charges of DUI, careless driving and a traffic violation against Raymond Peters, 40, of Westland, Pa., were held for court. Heidelberg police charged Peters on Feb. 16.

• Lisa Morris, 46, of Scott Township, waived to court two DUI charges. Heidelberg police charged Morris on March 30.
