Man Thwarts Car Break-In, Police Say

A Mt. Airy man thwarted a car break-in on his own car on May 12, police said.

On May 12, at around 6:18 p.m., a man went outside of his home in the unit block of East Gorgas Lane where he observed someone trying to break into his car, police said.

The owner of the vehicle yelled at the man trying to gain access to the vehicle, and the man fled toward Germantown Avenue.

The owner of the vehicle discovered that the handle to his front door had been pulled off, but nothing else was taken, police said.
