Week Ahead: Seeds to Sprouts, Youth Festival

Seeds to Sprouts:  Morris Arboretum will host a gardening program for children ages 2-4 on Monday, Sept. 9, at 10:30 a.m.  Here's how they describe the program: "Is your toddler a budding naturalist? Join us this fall for a series of outdoor adventures designed to introduce children and their caregivers to the wonders of the natural world! Each session will include guided exploration through the Arboretum and a craft to take home. Children must be walking and accompanied by an adult. Please dress for the outdoors and for the weather. Class size is limited to the first 15 registrants. Due to its popularity, this program includes two six-week sessions – sign up for one or both! 

Six Mondays: September 9, 16, 23, 30, October 7, 14 
10:30 – 11:15 a.m.

Six Mondays: October 21, 28, November 4, 11, 18, 25 
10:30 – 11:15 a.m. 
Members: $120 for each six-week session Non-members: $150 for each six-week session."

Book Club: The Germantown Jewish Centre hosts a book club on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m.  Here's how the Centre describes the club: "GJC's book group meets monthly and reads fiction and non-fiction books of Jewish interest written mostly, but not solely, by Jewish writers and chosen by the group.  For more information, contact program@germantownjewishcentre.org or 215-844-1507 X 19."

Youth Festival: Here's how the organizers describe it: "Enjoy two fun-filled days! Check out the 4th Annual Philadelphia Interfaith Children and Youth Festival on the beautiful New Covenant Campus, 7500 Germantown Avenue on Saturday, September 14th from 11 am - 5 pm and Sunday, September 15th from noon - 4 pm.  Food, entertainment, arts & crafts, activities.  FREE Admission.  For more information email nnelson@mccp.org or call 215-347-4022.  Vendors welcome."
