Woman-Owned Gift & Goods Shop Opens Friday In Chestnut Hill

CHESTNUT HILL, PHILADELPHIA — A new homegrown, woman-owned and operated, gifts and goods retailer is getting ready to open up shop in Chestnut Hill.

Located at 8521 Germantown Ave. in the Chestnut Hill, Occasionette will open Friday.

The new retail space marks the fourth curated gift shop for Occasionette, joining brick-and-mortar locations on East Passyunk Avenue, the flagship storefront, and Joy Shop in Collingswood, New Jersey.

The opening of the Chestnut Hill location comes just months after the launch of Occasionette Joy Shop, a children’s boutique selling "gifts for tiny humans."

Helmed by owner and creative director Sara Villari, the Chestnut Hill space spans 1200 square feet, comparable to the East Passyunk Avenue shop, and will offer a vast selection of new and returning wares, stationery, candles, bar essentials, jewelry, décor, and much more.

Additionally, Occasionette Chestnut Hill will boast the largest card wall out of all four shops – featuring a massive display of greeting cards fit for every occasion.

This retail space will incorporate a touch of Occasionette Joy Shop by offering a section of children-specific items including toys, games, puzzles, bibs, and so on.

"We couldn’t be more honored and excited to join the tight knit community of Chestnut Hill, and to be amongst a bevy of wonderful, talented retailers, restaurants, services, and more," Villari said. "Our goal at Occasionette is for guests to leave happier than they came in, and we hope that locals and visitors of Chestnut Hill will do just that after browsing our brand-new space."

Occasionette will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
