Activities Alert: Cranberry Patch's Official Summer Camp Guide

Enrollment is starting soon for many summer camps. Here's a selection of summer camps in or near the Cranberry community.

With the choice and variety of camps available in southwestern Pennsylvania, boredom won't be an option this summer.

Organizations, from the YMCA to your local parks and recreation department, offer dozens of camp choices for science, reading, sports, music and more.

Whether you're looking for an all-around experience or a more focused camp, this list features camps in or near the Cranberry area, as well as options in other communities.

Cranberry

Name: Camp Cranberry

Type of camp: Day camp with a variety of activities

Cost: Program fees vary. A $25 deposit, per camp, is payable at the time of registration, and the balance is due two weeks prior to the program start date.

Where: Community Park, North Boundary Park, Family Retreat Center

When: Mondays through Fridays, June 10 through Aug. 23.

  • Morning sessions, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Morning and afternoon sessions, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Extended care options, 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Details: Varied programs include Pee Wee Camp (for ages 4-6), Adventure Camp (for ages 6-12) and Sports Camp (for ages 6-12)

Type of camp: Hosted at more than 1,200 schools and organizations each year nationwide, the Camp Invention program supports the efforts of school districts to provide extended science education for elementary school children

Cost: $225

When: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 24 to June 28

Deadline for registration: Registration is only open to students living in the Pine-Richland School District boundaries.
