Attorney General Arrests Butler Man for Planning Sexual Contact with Five Year Old

The arrest of David Paul Ellenberger follows an investigation into online advertisements that solicit sex from children.

A Butler man, already a convicted sex offender, was arrested Wednesday when officials found that he was planning a meeting with someone who would allow him to perform sexual acts with a five year-old girl.

David Paul Ellenberger, 43, is charged with unlawful contact with a minor, attempted rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, criminal attempt of indecent assault, and criminal use of a communication facility.

The arrest follows an investigation into online advertisements that solicit sex from children. They report that Ellenberger posted an ad asking to “jack off together/panty play.” An agent responded to Ellenberger’s ad, posing as the father of a 5-year-old girl. Ellenberger made several explicit requests for sexual contact. Agents confirmed his identity through his cell phone number.
