Cranberry To Kick Off Motorist Slow-Down Campaign

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — To help keep pedestrians and motorists safe, the township has scheduled its annual Slow Down Campaign. It's slated to begin Friday and run through June 20.

The campaign is a partnership among the township, police department, and Township homeowners’ associations. It is inspired by the national “Keep Kids Alive Drive 25” program and is designed to make streets safer for all who walk, cycle, play, drive, and ride. The program is funded through local business sponsorships and the Cranberry Township Community Chest.

This year’s campaign coincides with the end of the Seneca Valley School District academic year. Radar speed signs and hundreds of yard signs will be placed in participating neighborhoods, and the Township Police Department will have an increased police presence. The radar signs are moved to different neighborhoods daily, and the data gathered is used to make changes to the program and raise awareness of the initiative.

Participating neighborhoods include Antler Ridge, Autumn Hill, Blue Ridge Estates, Bristol Creek, Cedarbrook, Clearbrook, Cranberry Heights, Cranberry West, Crystal Springs, Ehrman Farms, Forest Edge, Foxmoor, Franklin Ridge, Freedom Woods, Georgetown Square, Hampshire Woods, Havenwood, Hazelwood Farms, Highland Village, Hunter's Creek, Meadowcroft, Oakview Estates, Pinehurst, Scenic Ridge, The Crossings, Timberline, Winchester Farms, Winchester Lakes, and Woodbine Estates.
