Cranberry Starbucks Reopens After Mulch Fire
Firefighters believe a lit cigarette caused the smoldering mulch.

A small mulch fire temporarily shut down the Starbucks on Freedom Road in Cranberry Township Friday morning.
Mark Nanna, fire administrator for the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company, said he believes a lit cigarette thrown into the mulch located near the back of the building caused it to begin smoldering at about 8:30 a.m.
There was no damage to the building.

Because the mulch fire took place near an electrica; meter, firefighters remained on the scene until Penn Power confirmed there were no electrical issues at the building.
Nanna said the power remained on at the Starbucks during the incident.

A Starbucks employee said the business was closed for about half an hour while firefighters were on the scene. It reopened at about 9 a.m. Â
