PITTSBURGH, PA — Independence Day is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on in and around town.

The city will host a monumental Independence Day celebration from 4 p.m.-10 p.m. at Point State Park. It will include a family-style picnic at the park that will feature patriotic music and food vendors.

There also will be cannon-firing, along with local and nationally touring acts across three stages in Point State Park, the North Shore Great Lawn and Liberty Avenue. The holiday celebration will feature a C-17 flyover, hot air balloon, food truck corral and kids’ activities including face painting, caricatures, interactive displays and more.
