Plans For First Cranberry Meijer Store Progress (patch.com) — Cranberry residents can look forward to Pennsylvania’s first Meijer superstore anchoring the planned Henderson Crossing development at Route 228 and Franklin Road near North Catholic High School. Township supervisors have approved key land-use measures for the 45-acre mixed-use project, which will also include apartments and restaurants, with construction expected to begin in 2026. The new Meijer will join a planned Wegmans store in expanding local grocery and retail options. 
2. Cranberry Early Learning Center To Hold Open House (patch.com) — Families in Cranberry with preschool-age children can explore the Cranberry Early Learning Center during an open house from 5–7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the township municipal center. Parents can meet staff, tour secure and well-equipped facilities that include a library and full gym, and learn about programs for ages 2½ through 5. New student registration opens that morning on a first-come, first-served basis.
3. The biggest business news from Butler County in 2025 (butlereagle.com) — Cranberry Township saw major business moves in 2025, including Wegmans planning a large new store in the Cranberry Springs development and MSA Safety expanding its Cranberry Woods campus with a $20 million property purchase. 4. North Catholic girls basketball's Sam Weir isn't fazed by D-I recruiting offers. The sophomore is motivated (butlereagle.com) — In Cranberry Township, North Catholic sophomore guard Sam Weir is turning early Division I scholarship interest into motivation rather than pressure. Despite battling a foot injury and the flu, she’s already drawing offers and visits from several colleges while focusing on helping North Catholic chase WPIAL and state titles and steadily expanding her all-around game.
