Trans-Siberian Orchestra Singer, Cranberry Native James Lewis Dies

Lewis was one of the lead singers for the wildly popular Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — James Lewis, a Cranberry native and singer with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, died Monday of cancer. He was 63.

The Seneca Valley High School graduate's musical career began with nationwide commercials for products such as G.I. Joe, Campbell's Soup, Chevy trucks and others, according to his obituary. He also was a member of the bands BlueHouse and ROY-G-BIV.

He then landed a position as one of the lead singers for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, touring with the popular rock band at many venues - including PPG Paints Arena. After about eight years with the band, his health issues forced him from the stage.
