• DCCC graduates 48 from police academy (delcotimes.com) — Five new officers headed to the Upper Darby Police Department were among 48 graduates from Delaware County Community College’s Municipal Police Academy this week, an important pipeline for local law enforcement. The class, which included 12 women and several award-winning cadets, completed a demanding 920-hour training program that supplies most municipal officers in Delaware County.
   

• High Schools: Nyah Yao's 25-point effort leads Radnor past Strath Haven (delcotimes.com) — Upper Darby boys basketball fans will be glad to know the Royals pulled out a 74-65 Central League win over Conestoga behind four players in double figures. The roundup also highlights strong performances from Radnor girls, Chester’s girls team, and several area swim programs, giving Darby-area sports followers a quick look at how neighboring schools are faring this winter.
