Arrest Made in Beechview Man's Death

Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with .
Lamar Alston, 24, address unknown, was arrested for the shooting death of 23-year-old Mileek Smith-Grissom of Beechview.
Pittsburgh police responded to the 600 block of Nobelstown Road in East Carnegie on Sunday afternoon for a report that a man, identified as Grissom, had been shot.

According to the police report, officers chased Alston to the 500 block of East Main Street in Carnegie, where he was stopped by a Heidelberg K9 police officer and arrested. A firearm was also recovered.
Police departments from Pittsburgh, Carnegie, Scott Township, Collier Township, Heidelberg, and the Pennsylvania State Police responded.

Grisson was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Alston was charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault. He was taken to Allegheny County Jail. Pittsburgh police Homicide Detectives are investigating the incident.
