Brookline Fatal Fire Victim Identified

The blaze also took the lives of several animals.

BROOKLINE, PA - The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the woman who died last week in a house fire in the 2000 block of Pioneer Avenue. The victim was Melanie Hesser, 57.

Hesser was pronounced dead at the scene after firefighters extinguished the Feb. 11 blaze. Her body was found on the first floor. A dog and cat also perished.

Pittsburgh public safety officials said the fire is believed to have started in the kitchen.
