Brookline Man Pleads Guilty to Killing Ex-Wife's Boyfriend
After fleeing to Mexico, a Brookline man pleaded guilty today to a 2013 murder.
A Brookline man has pleaded guilty to the 2013 killing of his ex-wife’s boyfriend, according to court documents.
David Edick, 28, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder after the Aug. 31, 2013 shooting of Ryan Beal, 28, at Beal’s Swissvale apartment, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Under the plea deal, Edick will serve 20 to 40 years in prison for Beal’s murder, the Tribune-Review reported.

Edick fled to Mexico and was arrested 12 days after the shooting on Sept. 12, 2013, trying to swim across the Rio Grande River to get back into the United States, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Edick was in possession of the 7.62-caliber revolver used in Beal’s murder, the Post-Gazette said.
