CoGo's Robbed, Police Look for Suspects

are looking for a man who allegedly robbed on Potomac Avenue on Aug. 5.

According to the police report, a white man dressed in a baseball hat, shorts and a t-shirt ran into the store just before 4 a.m., stuffed his pockets with a number of items and fled the store in a tan-colored sedan.

The man was with two other men, who reportedly did not steal anything from the store. The other men were described as a black male, and a white male who had the Pittsburgh Pirates "P" logo tattooed on his face.

Aug. 7

  • Police responded to a home in the 1200 block of McNeilly Avenue at 7 a.m. for a report of a man found sleeping in someone's basement. According to the report, Charles Bracken, 23, of Beechview, told police he thought he was at the home of a friend. Bracken was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

  • An officer on patrol at 12:30 a.m. saw an argument occurring outside of on West Liberty Avenue between a bar tender and a female patron. According to the report, the woman was screaming obscenities at the bar tender, and ran from area when she saw the police. Police said the woman had been thrown out of the bar for throwing a drink at the bartender. The woman was described as a white female, who was wearing a brown dress and tie-dyed shirt.
  • Two children's bicycles were reportedly stolen from the garage of a home in the 1500 block of Dormont Avenue.
  • Dormont officers responded to the intersection of Illinois and Annex Avenue at 5:35 p.m. for a report of an accident involving a car and a person on a bicycle. According to the police report, a 22-year-old man had been riding down Illinois Avenue and failed to stop at a stop sign. The man hit the passenger side of a pickup truck that was driving through the intersection. The man was taken to Mercy Hospital with hip and leg injuries, but was conscious at the scene and is expected to recover. No charges were filed.


Aug. 9

  • Police and paramedics responded to the 1600 block of New Haven Avenue at 12:35 a.m. for a report of a man lying on the sidewalk. A 17-year-old male was arrested for public drunkenness and underage drinking. He was released to the custody of his father.
