Dormont Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

DORMONT, PA — A Pittsburgh man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at the Dollar Bank on West Liberty Avenue.

Shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday, a man wearing a partial facial covering entered the bank and ordered money from the teller. No weapon was observed. The man fled after reaching over the counter and removing an undisclosed amount of cash from the teller's drawer.

Dormont police, Allegheny County police and the FBI investigated the incident and identified John Flick, 58, as the suspect. Mt. Lebanon police took Flick into custody Thursday on an unrelated warrant, and county police obtained an arrest warrant for the bank robbery.

Flick is charged with robbery by oral or written demand, theft by unlawful taking of movable property, receiving stolen property and terroristic threats. Flick was transported to the county jail, where is awaiting arraignment.
