Dormont To Debut New Beggs Snyder Playground

DORMONT, PA — A ribbon cutting ceremony will occur Saturday for the new Beggs Snyder playground.
There will be a brief program and remaks at 10:30 a.m. The celebration will include free Kona Ice until 11 a.m., a parks storytime with the Dormont Public Libray's librarian, a visit from the Allegheny County park rangers, Sparky the Dormont Fire Department mascot and giveaways.
Beggs Snyder, Dormont and Hillsdale parks playgrounds closures occurred suddenly in October when the borough's insurance carrier said it no longer would insure the playgrounds because of safety issues.
