Man Arrested In Dormont Hit-And-Run Motorcyclist Death

A man has been accused of fatally striking a motorcyclist and then fleeing the scene. Get the details here.

DORMONT, PA — A suspect has been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run death of a motorcyclist in Dormont Saturday.

The incident occurred at around 10:42 on Saturday near the intersection of Pioneer and West Liberty avenues. First responders found a critically injured man who was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The victim was identified as Christian Sluka, 23.

Investigators determined that the driver of a red Ford Taurus struck the motorcyclist and fled the scene on foot.

Allegheny County police said Sunday night that detectives identified the driver as Saul Rivera-Ramirez, 25. He has been charged with with homicide by vehicle, accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed and operating a vehicle without a license.

Rivera-Ramirez was taken to the Allegheny County Jail pending preliminary arraignment.
