Money Raised For Family Of Motorcyclist Killed In Dormont Hit-And-Run

A fundraising effort is under way to benefit the family of Christian Sluka, 23, who died in a hit-and-run incident last weekend.

DORMONT, PA — A GoFundMe page has been established to help cover funeral expenses for Christian Sluka, 23, who was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Saturday.

"We tragically lost a son, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend," the page states."Christian was a selfless, hardworking, and talented individual, and his community and family will forever be changed without him."

The hit-and-run incident occurred at around 10:42 on Saturday near the intersection of Pioneer and West Liberty avenues. First responders found Sluka critically injured; he was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Allegheny County police said detectives identified the driver as Saul Rivera-Ramirez, 25. He has been charged with with homicide by vehicle, accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed and operating a vehicle without a license.

Rivera-Ramirez is being housed in the Allegheny County Jail.
