New Beggs Snyder Playground Construction Continuing
Four months after the old Beggs Snyder playground was demolished, a new one is rising.

DORMONT, PA — Despite experiencing weather delays, construction of the new Beggs Snyder playground is proceeding.
Beggs Snyder, Dormont and Hillsdale parks playgrounds closures occurred suddenly in October when the borough's insurance carrier said it no longer would insure the playgrounds because of safety issues.
Borough officials said this week that timber borders and concrete footers have been added to one of the three Beggs Snyder playground areas. The next step is to complete installation of the timber borders and concrete footers in the other two areas.

When that step is completed, the area will be filled with stone and underdrain. From there, the ForeverLawn Academy synthetic turf surfacing will be installed. The final step will be adding the playground equipment.
Borough officials did not provide a prospective opening date for the new playground.
