Outbound Liberty Tunnel To Close Again Next Week

Are you getting a sense of deja vu? You should.

PITTSBURGH, PA - On the bright side, the seemingly endless rehabilitation of the Liberty Bridge and tunnel will conclude. But that won’t happen until next February, which means you can expect more inconvenience next week in the vicinity of the span and tunnel

The outbound tunnel will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night from June 4-8, PennDOT announced. Crews will install electrical conduit and cables, work on safety and control systems, and integrated equipment installation.

The inbound tunnel will not be impacted. All outbound traffic will be detoured.
