Randazzo Named KO Board President, Receives State Award

The Keystone Oaks School Board held its annual reorganization meeting Thursday evening, Dec. 6, and now has both a new president and a new vice president.

School board members Marian Randazzo and Dan Domalik were nominated for the position of president, and Randazzo won by a vote of 5-4.

“I want to thank the board for their votes,” she said. “It is my honor to serve the board in this way next year.”

Randazzo has been a school board member for 12 years and also was recognized Thursday evening with the Honor Role of School Board Service award from the Pennsylvania School Board Association.

“One of the positive things about being a school board member is the people you meet along the way,” Randazzo said. “There have been so many great teachers, superintendents and residents that I’ve met in the community.  It makes you a well-rounded person. To give back to your community is, many times, a wonderful thing and I encourage people to give their time to the community. It’s something you get a lot out of.”

Domalik and Gary Alward, who served as school board president in 2012, were nominated for the position of vice president. Alward won by a 5-4 vote.

Alward will maintain his roles as the board representative to South Hills Area School District Association (SHASDA) and to Parkway West Career and Technology Center.

Board member Raeann Lindsey will serve as the board representative to Pennsylvania School Boards Association. Randazzo was the former PSBA representative.
