15 Arrested At Bucks County DUI Checkpoint: Police

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A multiagency police checkpoint led to the arrests of more than a dozen people over the Labor Day weekend, according to a news release.

Pennsylvania State Police and a dozen Bucks County law enforcement agencies set up traffic checkpoints Friday night on both sides of Easton Road in Warrington Township. By 3 a.m. Saturday, 13 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence and two others were arrested for narcotics violations, police said.

“Two other unsafe motorists were taken off the road,” police said.

The checkpoints were run “flawlessly” by 28 officers from the 13 agencies, the release said.

“This is why Bucks is a leader in the state when it comes to DUI task forces,” said Richard Vona, who is the director of law enforcement training at the Bucks County Police Training Center.

Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub thanked Warrington Police Lieutenant Glen Gottenberg and the officers who conducted the checkpoints.

“They took many drunk drivers off the road without incident,” he said in the release. “We are all safer because of them, now, and every day.”
