PENNSYLVANIA – Welcome to late winter in Pennsylvania, where your forecast for the next three days includes everything from rain to thunderstorms, high wind gusts, and snow showers.
The roller coaster weather beings Wednesday with highs in the mid 50s and the possibility of thunderstorms. The storm system could also bring gusts of up to 45 mph, according to AccuWeather.
The worst of the weather is expected to arrive in the Philadelphia region after 8 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The approaching winter storm, which is coming from the Midwest, will strengthen enough to generate powerful winds throughout the Northeast, according to AccuWeather.
"As the barometric pressure falls and the circulation around the storm strengthens, west to northwest winds will dramatically increase from the Midwest to the Northeast spanning late Wednesday through Thursday," AccuWeather forecasters said in a news release.

Thursday's forecast features rain, a wintry mix, and even some snow showers for the Philadelphia region. No accumulation is expected.

"Gusts between 35 and 45 mph will be common, while the ridges over the central Appalachians and the eastern sides of lakes Erie, Ontario and Huron can experience frequent gusts between 45 and 55 mph," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson said.

Wednesday: A chance of drizzle with a slight chance of showers before noon, then a chance of showers, mainly after 2pm. Areas of fog before 8 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 53. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Wednesday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 37. East wind around 10 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Thursday: A chance of rain and snow showers, mainly before 7 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 43. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
