27 Central Bucks Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

27 Central Bucks students have been named semifinalists in the 66th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Twenty-seven Central Bucks students have been named semifinalists in the 66th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

The selected students are just a small portion of the roughly 16,000 nationwide that will compete for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million that will be offered next spring.

About 90 percent of semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing, with about half of finalists likely to win the scholarship and earn the title of Merit Scholar.

Students are judged based on their academic record, as well as participating in school and community activities and honors and awards received. The list of finalists will be released in April 2021, with winners announced in the beginning of July 2021.
