Car Stolen, Drivers Arrested For DUI: Plumstead Police Report
Township police also investigated fraudulent transactions totaling $73,000 on a hacked Quickbooks account.
PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Jan. 13 and 18:
January 13
- At 8:55 a.m., officers responded to Fred Beans on North Easton Road for a report of an auto theft. Police were told that sometime over the weekend, unknown actor(s) broke a vehicle’s window and removed it from the lot. The vehicle is worth more than $33,000. Detectives obtained security footage. The case remains under active investigation.
January 15

- At 3:48 p.m., officers responded to a theft complaint on Stump Road. The complainant reported viewing their Ring camera footage, which showed an unknown man dropping off some items and stealing a package from the porch. This incident is also under investigation.
January 16
- At 12:28 p.m., a business owner from Plumstead stopped by the station to report a fraud case. The complainant stated that their QuickBooks account had been hacked, resulting in multiple fraudulent transactions to unknown accounts totaling approximately $73,000. The owner was provided with identity theft and victims’ rights information. The investigation is ongoing.

- At 9:36 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on North Easton Road with an expired registration plate. Upon speaking with the driver, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol, slurred speech, and bloodshot eyes. The driver, a 49-year-old Doylestown man, failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood alcohol test results.
January 18
- At 1:14 a.m., officers patrolling Sawmill Road conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was approaching with high beams on and failed to dim them. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol, slurred speech, and bloodshot eyes. When questioned, the driver admitted to drinking earlier. A field sobriety test was administered, which the driver was unable to perform successfully. The driver, a 30-year-old woman from Doylestown,was arrested for driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood alcohol test results.
- At 3:10 a.m., officers conducting a traffic enforcement detail on Swamp Road stopped a vehicle. Upon approaching the driver, the officer observed glassy, bloodshot eyes and impaired motor skills. When asked if he had been drinking, the driver admitted he had. A breathalyzer test indicated a blood alcohol level above the legal limit. The driver was then asked to perform a field sobriety test, which he was unable to complete satisfactorily. The driver, a 46-year-old Dublin man, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood alcohol test results.
