BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The last weekend in April brings lots of fun things to do to Bucks County - and beyond - including a celebration of agriculture at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown and the return of the shad just across the river from Bucks County in Lambertville, New Jersey.

Here are five fun things to do this weekend in Bucks County and beyond:

A-Day Celebrating 75th Year At DelVal University

A-Day returns to the campus of the Delaware Valley University in Doylestown for its 75th year this
weekend with three days of fun, food, animals, and lots more. The event takes place on Friday, April 25 from 12 to 8 p.m., Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The student-run event features agricultural fun and excitement including farm animals and educational exhibits, pony rides, pig races, arts and crafts vendors, a tractor parade, student performances and presentations and live music. Admission is free, but there is a $20 fee to park. READ MORE

Shad Fest Casts Off This Weekend In Lambertville

When it comes to river town traditions, few can rival Shad Fest, Lambertville's springtime celebration of fish, fun, and family. This weekend, the Greater Lambertville Chamber of Commerce stages the festival to welcome the shad back home to its spawning grounds and to bring people together to celebrate the region. The rain or shine festival featuring vendors, food, fish hauling demonstrations and live music, takes place on Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Lambertville waterfront, along Union Street, and throughout town. Spring Lecture To Celebrate Rebirth Of Tyler Formal Gardens

Bucks County Community College will host its 17th annual Tyler Formal Gardens & Landscaping Lecture at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26. The keynote speaker will be John Vick, Executive Director of Andalusia Historic House, Gardens & Arboretum in Bensalem. He will discuss how gardens and landscapes shape the understanding of the past and the role historic gardens play in building a happier, healthier future. READ MORE

Inaugural Weekend Tour To Celebrate The Arts In Bucks

The public is invited to immerse themselves in the creative pulse of Bucks County during the inaugural Bucks Art Districts Tour — a spring celebration of the region’s vibrant and diverse artistic talent - from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 25, 26 and 27. The self-guided tour, spanning the entire weekend, invites art lovers, families, and curious minds to explore the rolling hills and hidden gems of the Bucks County art scene. Historic Walking Tour Planned In Yardley

A walking tour that takes in both the Delaware Canal towpath and neighboring South Canal Street will be sponsored by the Yardley Historical Association on Saturday. The tour will begin at the Old Library by Lake Afton, 46 West Afton Ave., at 2 p.m. Saturday. This 2-mile round-trip stroll will cover a bit of downtown Yardley, then head south on the towpath to Lock 5, where canal and railroad history meet. READ MORE
