5 Fun Things To Do This Weekend In Bucks Co.
The first weekend of summer offers lots to see and do, including a Pride Block Party and a show celebrating the art of Selma Burke.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The first official weekend of summer is here. That means weekend trips to the shore and to the mountains where it's bound to be cooler than the Delaware Valley. But if you're sticking around Bucks County and dealing with the heat, you'll find plenty to see and do right in your own backyard.
Here are five fun things to consider this weekend:
Society Bringing Gilbert & Sullivan's 'Ruddigore' To The Stage
The Bucks County Gilbert & Sullivan Society will bring the musical comedy “Ruddigore” to the stage on Friday, June 20 at 8 p.m., Saturday, June 21 at 2 and 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 22 at 2 p.m. at the
Delaware Valley University Life Sciences Theater, 700 East Butler Avenue, Doylestown. Enter from New Britain Road to access the Life Sciences building). The theater group, now in its 16th year, presents this topsy-turvy musical of two brothers of the family Ruddigore, who are under an ancestral curse to commit a crime a day or else die a painful death.

'Painting Hope' For Cancer Research, Lyme Awareness
Twenty-nine young Bucks County artists are showcasing their works throughout June at the Countryside Gallery in Newtown to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Cancer Research Hospital and Lyme Disease awareness. Dubbed "Painting Hope," the show features individual paintings created by each of the aspiring young artists in addition to three collaborative works that are up for silent auction to benefit St. Jude and the PA Lyme Resource Network (www.PaLyme.org). Their painting of "Kids Castle, Doylestown" will be auctioned off to the highest bidder to benefit St. Jude while their paintings, "Camelback Bridge Over the Delaware Canal" and "Limes for Lymes," will be auctioned for the PA Lyme Resource Network.
