5th Central Bucks East Student Tests Positive for COVID-19

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Another student at Central Bucks High School East has tested positive for COVID-19, the district announced Monday.

That marks the district's fifth case among high school students since Sept. 5.

The student followed the guidelines in the district's health and safety plan and is self-isolating for the appropriate number of days, Superintendent John J. Kopicki said.

The Bucks County Department of Health will oversee a contact tracing process, he added.

Symptoms of COVID-19 can include fever or chills, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache or loss of taste or smell.

Since the onset of the pandemic, more than 168,000 Pennsylvanians have tested positive for the virus and more than 8,280 people have died from it.
