WEST ROCKHILL TOWNSHIP, PA — Charges have been filed against a West Rockhill property owner for animal neglect, according to the Bucks County SPCA.

Five animals including a quarter horse and four goats were recently rescued from the property "where they were living in unsanitary conditions and with no shelter from the elements," reported the SPCA.

"We had been to the property previously and ordered corrections," the SPCA shared on Facebook. "Our team made several follow-up visits, sadly, on the most recent visit we found a mini horse who had died. The animal was sent for necropsy (animal autopsy) and we are awaiting results."

According to the SPCA, the eight-year-old quarter horse cross gelding named Wyatt had largely gone unhandled.

"With assistance from Quakertown Veterinary Clinic staff, Pennridge Regional Police Department, and a friend of the shelter who helped with the use of their trailer, we were able to safely transport Wyatt to our barn in Quakertown.

"Our medical team and staff made sure Wyatt was in good condition and took care of him until we could coordinate placement with Days End Farm Horse Rescue in Maryland," the SPCA said. "Wyatt made the trip south on Sunday and he’s settling in well," the SPCA reports.

The four goats remain in the care of the SPCA while receiving medical treatment.

"We are optimistic that they will make a full recovery. We look forward to finding new homes for them as soon as possible," reported the SPCA

"We are grateful for the assistance of QVC, the police, and the community for the sake of these animals. And to everyone who donates to our Animal Relief Fund to help animals rescued from cruelty and neglect," said the SPCA.
