"Officer McGowan has been a shining example of what it means to be a first responder," said community manager Nicole Brown.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Arbor Estates Community on Saturday presented its Community Service First Responder Award to Plumstead Township Police Officer Makenzie McGowan.
The award recognizes Officer McGowan for her "professionalism and outstanding contributions to the safety" of the residents and staff at the Arbor Estates Community on Easton Road.
During a brief ceremony, community manager Nicole Brown presented the award to Officer McGowan on behalf of UMH Properties, which owns and operates more than 140 manufactured home communities in the Northeast, Midwest and the South.

Brown added, "Officer McGowan truly embodies the qualities of a dedicated and caring first responder, and Arbor Estates Community has no doubt that she will continue to inspire others with her exceptional service."
Officer McGowan was joined at Arbor Estates by Plumstead Police Chief David Mettin, who commended his officer on the recognition.
"We're really proud of her for what she does every day on the street," said the chief. "This is just another example of the quality officers we have in Plumstead Township. Our new officers have been doing a great job for us under the mentorship of Sgt. Mark Snyder."
McGowan, who joined the department last May from the Tullytown Borough Police Department where she was working part-time, expressed appreciation to Arbor Estates for the recognition.
"I'm really honored," she said, adding that it was unexpected "since I haven't been here that long. I like everyone here and I think Nicole is great. They make it a nice environment when I come out to a call. It's really cool to be recognized for doing your job, especially in today's world. So I really appreciate this recognition. It's awesome."
