Knife Attack, DUI Arrests, Public Drunkenness: Central Bucks Regional Crime Report

The following incidents and arrests were reported during the month of July by the Central Bucks Regional Police Department.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks Regional Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests during July:

July 8

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE, Doyle Street, Doylestown Borough. A 49-year-old man from Jamison was charged with DUI following police response to a reckless driver who almost struck a pedestrian and drove off the road, coming to a stop in a grassy area. The driver presented with an odor of alcoholic beverage, droopy eyelids, and a flushed face. A legal blood draw was obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

July 11

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, 132 Veterans Lane (Fine Wine & Good Spirits), Doylestown Borough. A 61-year-old man from Plumsteadville was charged with public drunkenness following police response to a possible DUI. Upon police arrival, the man was found on the ground next to a parked vehicle. He presented with glassy, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, poor motor movements, and a very strong odor of alcoholic beverage. He was released to a family member. A citation has been filed.

SIMPLE ASSAULT, HARASSMENT, PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, 561 N. Main Street (McDonald’s), Doylestown Borough. A 61-year-old man from Plumsteadville was charged after he allegedly pushed an elderly relative from the driver’s seat of a vehicle, causing the victim to fall to the ground and hurt themselves. Police said the man was belligerent with police and showed several signs of impairment. He was arraigned, bail set at 10 percent of $10,000, and he was remanded to Bucks County Prison.

July 12

ATTEMPTED MURDER OF THE THIRD DEGREE, AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, SIMPLE ASSAULT, RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, POSSESSION OF INSTRUMENT OF CRIME & HARASSMENT, S. Main Street, Doylestown Borough. Police were dispatched to the area of S. Main and State Streets for an abandoned 911 call. A second 911 call came in for the well-being check of a female at the same location. Upon arrival, police encountered Robin McNamara, 50 of Doylestown, outside the building with clothes soaked in blood. McNamara told police the blood was from the victim, and she believed she broke the victim’s nose. Police found the victim inside an apartment covered in blood with a deep laceration on the back of the head down to the skull. Police said several other lacerations were observed on the victim’s shoulders and forearm with bruising down the back. The victim informed police that McNamara had attacked them with a cleaver-type knife. The victim was transported to a trauma center for medical care. McNamara was arraigned, bail was set at $1 million and she was remanded to Bucks County Prison.

July 16

DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE, N. Main Street & Old Dublin Pike, Doylestown Borough. A 34-year-old Philadelphia man was charged with DUI following police response to a reckless driver. Police said they located the driver operating a vehicle on a suspended license in the parking lot of Regency Woods. The man presented with an unsteady gait and erratic behavior, including changing his story to police multiple times. Field sobriety tests were conducted, and a subsequent legal blood draw was obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

July 17

DISORDERLY CONDUCT/HARASSMENT, N. Main Street, Doylestown Borough. A 23-year-old man from Lower Gwynedd was charged following police response to an assault. The man, unknown to the victim, escalated a verbal exchange after being told not to urinate in public. The man shoved the victim backwards twice, knocking the victim to the ground.

UNDERAGE DRINKING & PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, W. Butler Avenue, New Britain Borough. An 18-year-old Levittown man was charged with underage drinking and public drunkenness following police response to a person lying on the ground. The man presented with an odor of alcoholic beverage and required medical assistance.

July 19 and 20

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, Doylestown Borough. The following individuals were cited for public urination during separate incidents: a 21-year-old Chalfont man; a 21-year-old North Wales man; a 25-year-old Hawley man; a 27-year-old Doylestown man; and a 21-year-old Doylestown man. Citations were issued.

July 19

FALSE ID, UNDERAGE DRINKING, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, W. State and S. Hamilton Streets, Doylestown Borough. A 20-year-old Suffern, N.Y., man was charged after police observed him urinating in public. The man provided a false identification and appeared to have consumed an alcoholic beverage. Citations were filed.

July 20

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, N. Main Street, Doylestown Borough. A 21-year-old Quakertown man was charged following police response to a man who was highly intoxicated, getting sick and lying face down on the ground. He denied medical assistance. A citation was filed.

July 24

FALSE ID, UNDERAGE DRINKING, PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, 229 N. Broad Street (CBRPD), Doylestown Borough. A 20-year-old North Wales man was charged with false ID, underage drinking and public drunkenness. Police said while waiting for a friend at police headquarters, he was found lying face down on the floor and intoxicated. Medical assistance was provided, and Citations were filed.

July 25

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, 19 N. Main Street (Chambers). A 46-year-old Warrington man and a 23-year-old Furlong man were cited after police observed one of the men throwing a beer at another. The other man then shoved the first man to the ground. Citations were issued.

July 26

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, N. Main and East State Streets, Doylestown Borough. A 46-year-old Buckingham man was cited after he was found unconscious in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle. The man presented with slurred speech, bloodshot, glassy eyes and confusion. A citation has been filed.

July 27

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, E. Butler Avenue, New Britain Borough. A 21-year-old man from Doylestown was cited after he was found lying face down on the lawn. He was initially unresponsive; when alert, he stated he had too much to drink. The man refused medical assistance.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, N. Main Street, Doylestown Borough. A 21-year-old New Hope man was cited for urinating in public. He was presented with an unsteady gait and appeared to be intoxicated. Citations have been filed.
