Black Lives Matter Protest Monday In Doylestown

DOYLESTOWN, PA — A Black Lives Matter protest will be held Monday, June 15 in Doylestown.

It is scheduled to be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Bucks County Old Courthouse lawn, 55 E. Court Street.

The protest is one of many held locally and nationwide following the death of George Floyd. Floyd, 46, died on May 25 after being handcuffed and pinned to the ground by Minneapolis Police Department officer Derek Chauvin, who pressed his knee on his neck for several minutes.

The protest is organized by Bucks Students Demand Action and Youth 4 Unity.

Organizers are asking participants to wear masks. They also request people to remain peaceful with "no looting" and "no rioting," according to an event flyer.
