Blasting Scheduled At Eureka Stone Quarry In Warrington

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Eureka Stone Quarry on Easton Road will be conducting blasting activities on Tuesday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

As mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, all blasting activities will be monitored and conducted according to state and federal laws.

Before the detonation, depending on proximity to Warrington, you may hear the following:

  • At least one minute but no more than two minutes before the detonation, an air horn will be sounded with three bursts, each lasting five to 10 seconds each.
  • Following the inspection of the blast area, a single 10-second air horn signal will be sounded.

Adverse weather conditions, equipment breakdowns, personnel illnesses and other unforeseen issues may make it necessary, in the interest of safety, to conduct unscheduled blasting operations on occasion.
