Bucks Co. Road Ranks Among The 'Most Haunted' In The Nation

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — A dark and eerie Bucks County roadway is among "America's Most Haunted Roads," according to a new ranking released just in time for Halloween by the international car rental company, SIXT.

Steeped in chilling legends and eerie lore, Birch Lane in Bedminster Township comes in at number 11 in SIXT's ranking, which used TikTok and Google search trends to reveal the spookiest streets across the country.

"Beyond its picturesque colonial-era homes and tree-lined roads, locals whisper of ghostly apparitions flitting between the old houses and along the narrow lane — from shadowy figures glimpsed at twilight to unexplained lights that flicker in the distance," said the travel experts at SIXT.

"Once a place where children dared each other to explore after dark, Birch Lane’s haunted reputation lingers, transforming an otherwise serene country drive into a spine-tingling encounter with the spectral echoes of Bucks County’s past," said the experts.

Visitors have reported feeling sudden chills, hearing footsteps on the gravel when no one is near, and glimpsing fleeting shapes in the corners of their eyes, according to SIXT.

"Despite its haunting reputation, it continues to attract curious travelers and ghost hunters in search of the unknown," said the experts. "Those brave enough to venture can hop in their rental car and chase ghostly sights among the echoes of colonial history.”

So which road ranks as the "Most Haunted" in America? Here's what the SIXT ranking found.

The ranking lists Clinton Road in West Milford (Passaic County), New Jersey, as the "Most Haunted" in the nation.

"With over 300,000 searches in the past year for this infamous road, a moment on Clinton Road is guaranteed to bring a spine-tingling thrill," said the SIXT experts. "Claimed to be haunted by many spirits, those traveling this road may encounter ghost lights, Dead Man’s Curve, a ghost boy who returns coins after you toss them into the river, and even the infamous Jersey Devil."

To identify the most haunted roads worldwide, SIXT analyzed Google and TikTok search trends over the past year for each road name and related “ghost” terms, and reviewed the Ghosts of America website to find the U.S. states with the most roadside ghost sightings. Data is accurate as of July 11, 2025.
