Bucks Co.'s Quakertown SPCA Needs New Oxygen Line For X-Rays

The shelter is trying to raise $5,000 for a new oxygen line for pets in surgery. Any extra money will go to the Animal Relief Fund.

QUAKERTOWN, PA — The X-ray room at the Quakertown SPCA does not have an oxygen line, and the animal shelter is trying to raise $5,000 to install one.

This Giving Tuesday, the Bucks County SPCA is requesting funds for the project. Funds raised beyond $5,000 will go toward the shelter's Animal Relief Fund. The fund helps cover the costs of care for animals rescued from cruelty and neglect or those with serious medical needs.

"X-rays are an invaluable tool for assessing everything from fractured legs to bladder stones," said. "Many animals are under anesthesia and in critical condition at the time of their X-ray. When animals are in this fragile condition, it's vital to support them with oxygen."
