Central Bucks Launches Search For Next Superintendent
The district will begin advertising for candidates starting on Monday, according to the Bucks County Intermediate Unit.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The search for the next superintendent of the Central Bucks School District is officially underway.
According to new details released by the Bucks County Intermediate Unit on Friday, the district will be posting the job opening regionally, statewide and nationally on Dec. 22 with applications due by 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 18.
In November, the school board retained the I.U. and its services to facilitate the search process, which will include advertising for candidates, surveying school district stakeholders on what they'd like to see in the next superintendent, formulating interview questions and assisting the school board in evaluating candidates.

As part of its agreement with the district, the Intermediate Unit will be reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses related to advertising and other direct costs associated with the search.
According to the IU, the position will be advertised regionally, statewide, and nationally through professional associations and publications, including Education Week, The School Superintendents Association (AASA), the Association of Educational Service Agencies (AESA), the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators (PASA), the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA), and the Pennsylvania Association of Intermediate Units (PAIU), as well as through county and state distribution lists and selected organizations in neighboring states.

Under a timeline released by the IU, the school board expects to identify candidates for interviews in late January, with initial interviews in early February. The board’s goal is to name a new superintendent in the spring of 2026, the IU said.
To aid the school board in evaluating candidates, the Bucks IU will be conducting an electronic stakeholder engagement survey and will be hosting in-person focus groups early next year to gather feedback from the public.
Both the electronic survey and in-person focus groups will be centered on the following two questions: What qualities, characteristics, and experiences would you like to see in Central Bucks School District’s next superintendent? And what main priorities should be addressed by the new superintendent in their first year?"
A link to the electronic survey and the process to RSVP for the in-person focus groups will
be shared in early January.
The Community Survey will be distributed to students, staff, parents, and community members beginning Jan. 5 and will seek feedback on the traits, characteristics, and priorities stakeholders believe are important in the district’s next superintendent. The survey will remain open through January 16 and a summary of results will be shared with the community shortly thereafter. A link to the survey will be shared via the district’s social media accounts and on the district website.
As a part of the search process, the Bucks IU will gather input from various district stakeholder groups. In addition, the community is invited to participate in three identical stakeholder focus groups, each scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 12 at Central Bucks High School East cafeteria, Jan. 13 at the Central Bucks South cafeteria, and Jan. 14 at the Central Bucks West cafeteria.
The Bucks IU also will support the board by developing interview protocols, assisting with logistics,
and facilitating the interview process. The members of the Central Bucks Board of School
Directors retain sole responsibility for determining which candidates advance through each
stage of the process and for selecting the district’s next superintendent.
A community forum to introduce the finalist candidate will be scheduled once the terms of a
mutually agreed upon employment contract are reached and scheduled for consideration at a
public meeting of the Board of School Directors.
