Bucks County Book Fest To Connect Authors, Readers This Weekend
Book Fest will feature more than a dozen published authors and several special events, including Book Fest on the Green at Mercer Museum.
DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Bucks County Book Fest will return to Doylestown this weekend after organizers were forced to move it online last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The fourth annual Book Fest is scheduled to run from Friday through Sunday, with 19 authors expected to participate in various events throughout the three-day celebration of the written word.
Christina Baker Kline, author of “The Exiles,” “Orphan Train” and “A Piece of the World,” is set to kick off Bucks County Book Fest 2021 with an in-person lecture starting at 7 p.m. Friday at the Salem United Church of Christ, 186 E. Court St.

Doylestown Band Stars In ‘Cheesy’ New Video For ‘7-Eleven Nachos’
Mercer Museum will host 17 published authors from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday for Book Fest on the Green. The authors are scheduled to participate in interviews at various books sales tents, giving readers an opportunity to meet and mingle with the authors and fellow book lovers, organizers said.

New York Times bestselling author Jason Reynolds is set to delivery a virtual keynote speech at 7 p.m. Saturday. The renowned author of “Ghost” and “All-American Boys” has won a slew of awards for his work, including a Newbery Honor, an NAACP Image Award and multiple Coretta Scott King honors.

Reynolds is currently the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, a title bestowed by the Library of Congress.
Bucks County Book Fest will come to a close Sunday with one of the festival’s most-anticipated events, the Writer’s Workshop. Salem United Church will host authors Tsering Wangmo Dhompa and Alan Drew for the workshop, which runs from 1-3 p.m. Sunday.

Dhompa, who teaches poetry and memoir writing at Villanova University, is the first Tibetan female poet to publish her work in English. Drew, author of “Gardens of Water,” is an associate professor of English at Villanova University and directs the school’s creative writing program.
