Bucks County Is Changing How It Reports COVID-19 Data

COVID-19 cases have continued to decrease in our area, according to the latest numbers from the Bucks County Department of Health.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Bucks County Health Department said Friday that it will no longer update data by municipality on its COVID-19 map, due to the high volume of at-home tests being taken.

State data for Bucks County will still be shared on the county COVID-19 dashboard, according to the release.

This news comes as cases continue to decrease locally in Bucks County. Cases were down by 165 between Feb. 11 and Feb. 17, for a total of 478 positive COVID-19 cases.

Of those, 82 cases were in children under 11 — down by 37 from the previous week — and 30 were in those between 12 and 18, for a decrease of 30 in that demographic.

Sixteen deaths from COVID-19 were reported in the county, with eight as delayed reports from the previous two-week period.

Bucks County's percent positivity rate continues to drop, too. The percent positivity is currently 6.6 percent, down 2.9 percent from the week before.

On Thursday, 86 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Bucks County. That's a decrease of five from the prior week. Of those patients, seven were on ventilators.

Vaccinated employees, and visitors, will be allowed to enter Bucks County government buildings and courts without masks starting next Monday, according to a report in the Bucks County Courier Times.
